Meridian Energy subsidiary Arc Innovations has been named as a finalist in the 2010 NZ Hi-Tech Awards, which recognise excellence in the New Zealand hi-tech industry.

Smart metering company Arc has been announced as a finalist in the Hi Fx Innovative Services Product Award category, for parties who have successfully introduced a new hi-tech service to the market.

General manager marketing and business development Tim Lynskey     says it is pleasing to be recognised by the company's peers in the hi-tech industry.

"Arc has successfully deployed the first large-scale smart metering network in Australasia and has installed more than 130,000 advanced meters in homes and businesses throughout New Zealand," he says.

Award winners will be announced at a gala dinner to be held at the Langham Hotel in Auckland on Friday May 7, 2010.
