Christchurch based company Arc Innovations has been announced as a finalist in the 2010 NZ Hi-Tech Awards, in the Hi Fx Innovative Services Product Award category.

The Awards recognise excellence in the New Zealand hi-tech industry and the winner of the Hi Fx Innovative Services Product Award category will have successfully introduced an exciting new hi-tech service to the market. "We are thrilled to be a finalist for this award and extremely pleased to be recognised by our peers in the hi-tech industry" says Tim Lynskey, GM Marketing and Business Development, Arc Innovations.

Arc Innovations is the New Zealand leader in the development, deployment, and management of advanced meter infrastructure (AMI) technology and services.

Mr Lynskey says "Arc have successfully deployed the first large-scale smart metering network in Australasia and has installed more than 130,000 advanced meters in homes and businesses throughout New Zealand.

Finalists in the majority of categories will now undergo face-to-face judging from a line up of local judges as well as being scrutinised by the global panel of international judges that include Michael Dell (founder of Dell computers) Howard Charney (Senior Vice President, Cisco), Andy Lark (VP Global Marketing, Dell), Pat Kenealy (who runs IDG Ventures), Richard Keyse (Chair NZTE Beachheads Europe) and Vernon Turner (Senior Vice President IDC Research).

 Winners of the awards in each category will be announced at a Gala Dinner to be held at the Langham Hotel in Auckland on Friday May 7, 2010.
